Clarification

Various powershell scripts for plex servers.

Plex-Bandage.ps1 -Lets y'all edit the xml file to add or remove cast members from the file.

Plex-MetaClean.ps1 -Removes metadata folders (TV Shows and/or Movies) that encounter the following conditions

1. Folder does not take the post-obit file \Contents\_combined\Info.xml
2. There is no tile in the file above

Plex-Titles.ps1 -Gets you a list of items in your library and shows what tv/movie corresponds to what metadata folder

Usage Cast Edit

1. Run the script
   powershell.exe -NoProfile -ExecutionPolicy Bypass -File c:/Plex-Cast.ps1
   For the above, Please note you need change the c:/ to the fullpath of your file

2. Click File -> Open up and select the xml file associated with the Television receiver or Motion-picture show that you lot want to edit.
   Notation: I recommend y'all add to the Info.xml file in com.plexapp.agents.localmedia

3. Click add together Add Bandage Member push button at of thr Gui, and fill in the info

4. Click File -> Save

5. In Plex tell the show you edited to refresh metadata (non sure if this is needed)

6. Your done

Tip: Use my Plex-Ttiles script to know were the folder is for the TV Show snd/or Moving-picture show you want to edit is

Usage Meta Clean

1. Run the script
   powershell.exe -NoProfile -ExecutionPolicy Featherbed -File c:/Plex-MetaClean.ps1
   For the above, Delight note you demand change the c:/ to the fullpath of your file

or use a switch/argument for automation

Switch	Description
-flick	Cleans the motion picture metadata folder
-boob tube	Cleans the television receiver metadata folder
-dry	Runs and shows what will be deleted west/o the -dry out switch (need to exercise a switch higher up too)

WARNING: Due to how plex now store Picture metadata all folders for movies volition be deleted. See Effect

Example: powershell.exe -NoProfile -ExecutionPolicy Featherbed -File c:/Plex-MetaClean.ps1 -statement -dry -idiot box -motion-picture show

2. Enjoy a cleaner metadata folder

1. Run the script
   powershell.exe -NoProfile -ExecutionPolicy Bypass -File c:/Plex-Titles.ps1
   For the above, Please note you need change the c:/ to the fullpath of your file

Notes

I have tested this on a NAS running the plex server, I Practice NOT know if this works on other plex servers ATM. I recommend you offset use the dryrun option to make sure it works fine.

I may make improvements to the script to make it easier to use.

A: Try using wordpad or what I recommend, Notepad++ https://notepad-plus-plus.org/

Q: Tin can I run the script safely?
A: Ples-titles - is 100% safe.
Plex-metaclean - unlikly to crusade issues for tv shows only, can cause a show to not exist listed if it accidently deletes a incorrect folder.
- issue with movies due to how plex stores moving picture metadata at present. See Consequence
Plex-Cast - is 100% safe.

Q: I cant admission the plex folder to run thus script?
A: You may have to requite yourself permission on the plex folder.
